The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Thursday expressed its pride in President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for being included in Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in 2024.

"The inclusion of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in the TIME 100 list reflects his brand of leadership that puts the national interest and the welfare of every Filipino above all else," the PCO said in a statement.

Furthermore, the PCO applauded Marcos' administration for his steadfast commitment to the country's economic growth and recovery.

"Despite geopolitical tensions and the hurdles posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, President Marcos has elevated the Philippines on the world stage and contributed to regional stability, notably in the Indo-Pacific region," said PCO.

"The President continues to steer the country towards peace and prosperity towards his vision of a Bagong Pilipina," it added.

In the article written by Charlie Campbell, Marcos was recognized for his efforts in bringing technocrats back into government, steadying the post-pandemic economy, and elevating the Philippines on the world stage.

He was also recognized for standing steadfastly against the Chinese in the disputed South China Sea.

Other former Philippine presidents who made the list were Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino in 2013 and Rodrigo Duterte in 2017.
